Natalia Hawthorn (Bracebridge, Ont.) placed ninth at the 36th annual NAIA women’s cross country national championship meet Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.
 
She completed the five-kilometre course in 17:50.7 and led the A.I.I. champion Thunderbirds to a runner-up finish in the team competition.
