UBC Thunderbirds first baseman Bruce Yari had a monster offensive weekend against the Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls in Klamath Falls, Ore. He went 11-for-19 at the plate for a .579 average over four games, including three doubles. Yari hit three home runs and drove in 10 runs overall. He also scored eight runs.

Yari's performance helped UBC to a sweep of the NAIA West Grouping series. The Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, native's batting average for the season rose to a team-best .418 by the end of the weekend.

The Thunderbirds improved to 27-8 on the season with the series sweep and will face Concordia (Ore.) University in a home and home series this coming weekend, playing a pair games Friday in Portland and two games the following day at Thunderbird Park beginning at 12:00 pm.
