Bring your team to a UBC Thunderbirds game

UBC Athletics and Recreation offers dedicated ticket programs for schools, clubs, and youth organizations. Whether you are planning a daytime field trip or an evening team outing, youth groups can experience Thunderbird home games together at accessible, group-based pricing.

Programs are available across regular season and playoff home games, with options for School Field Trip Groups and the Thunder Youth Group Program.

Who is this for?
Organized youth groups with participants ages 18 and under, including school classes, sports teams, clubs, and community organizations attending UBC Thunderbirds ticketed home games together.

School Field Trip Groups

Ideal for classes and school-based teams attending during school hours as part of a supervised field trip.

  • Ticket cost: Free tickets for eligible School Field Trip Groups.
  • Available for select regular season home games designated for school field trip attendance.
  • Designed to introduce students to university-level sport, campus spirit, and the Thunderbird experience.

Note: Sport groups affiliated with a school but not attending as an official field trip should register through the Thunder Youth Group Program.

Thunder Youth Group Program

A special group ticket rate for local youth teams, clubs, and organizations attending evening or weekend games together (ages 13–18 with adult supervision).

  • Group size: Minimum 10, maximum 30 participants (youth plus supervisors).
  • Who can apply: Any organized youth group, team, or club with participants aged 13–18 and adult supervisors.
  • Seating: General admission in designated seating areas; groups sit together where possible.
  • Available for all UBC Thunderbirds regular season and playoff home games, subject to availability.

How to request youth & school group tickets

To begin the booking process for either a School Field Trip Group or a Thunder Youth Group, please contact the UBC Thunderbirds Marketing team with the details below.

  1. Email thunderbirds.marketing@ubc.ca with:
    • Game(s) you would like to attend
    • Group type (School Field Trip / Thunder Youth Group / Halftime Support Group)
    • Estimated group size (youth and adult supervisors) and age range(s)
    • Organization, school, or team name
    • Lead contact name, email, and phone number
  2. Varsity Marketing will share a short intake form for your group to complete and will review your request.
  3. Once approved, a unique ticket code and purchase instructions will be provided so your group can obtain tickets at the appropriate rate.
  4. Youth group tickets must be secured at least 24 hours prior to game day. Thunder Youth Group tickets are not available for purchase on the day of the game.
