Alex Webb was named the NAIA West Group Pitcher of the Year Tuesday.

The third-year right handed pitcher from Surrey, BC finished the year with a 2.22 ERA through 81 innings and posted a 9-3 record, tied for the second most wins in the West Group. He also allowed only 65 hits, while tallying 95 strikeouts.

At this past weekend’s conference tournament he picked up the win in Saturday’s 6-3 victory over Concordia, pitching seven innings and allowing just three earned runs on four hits, while striking out six.

The Thunderbirds will now move on to the opening round of the NAIA World Series beginning May 11.
