Quarterback Michael O’Connor had a banner day in UBC’s 41-36 win over the over the Saskatchewan Huskies, racking up a career-high 449 yards and three touchdowns through the air, adding 30 yards and a score on the ground for good measure.

O’Connor’s day started out fast, as the Penn State transfer struck for two long touchdowns in the first quarter. First, O’Connor hit Alex Morrsion for a 47-yard score, before connecting with Ben Cummings for an 89-yarder.

The 6-foot-5, 230 pound signal caller kept the T-Birds in the driver’s seat with his legs, as his 15-yard score in the second quarter put UBC up 28-17. Finally, O'Connor sealed the win in the final frame, finding Trivel Pinto in the end zone on a corner route on an 18-yard toss.

Behind O’Connor’s arm, UBC improved their record to 5-2 and put themselves in position to claim home-field advantage in the Canada West semi-finals with a win in their upcoming clash with the Manitoba Bisons on Saturday, October 31.
