MUSCLE MLK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Fourth-year outfielder Jerod Bartnik led the UBC Thunderbirds baseball team to a four-game sweep of the Simpson University Red Hawks this past weekend.
On Saturday UBC won 8-4 and 7-1, while on Sunday they won by scores of 4-0 and 8-1.
The Surrey, BC product had a huge weekend at the plate, finishing 8-for-19, with four home runs, six RBI, four runs scored, and one double.
He is currently hitting .272 on the season with 10 home runs and 26 RBI.
In game one of the four-game series Bartnik became part of program history as the Thunderbirds set a new team record hitting back-to-back-to-back home runs. Bartnik, Bruce Yari, and Cam Firth combined to accomplish the feat.Â
With the sweep over the Red Hawks the Thunderbirds improved to 21-6 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in NAIA West conference play. This weekend UBC will host its first home games of the season with a pair of double headers at Thunderbird Park against the College of Idaho. Game times are 1:00pm/4:00pm Saturday, March 21 and 11:00am/2:00pm Sunday, March 22.
