MUSCLE MLK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK



First-year forward Manraj Hayer of the UBC Thunderbirds had a four-point weekend to help his UBC Thunderbirds to a road split against the University of Manitoba Bisons.
 
He had UBC’s lone goal in a 3-1 defeat on Friday night in Winnipeg.
 
Hayer, a Vancouver native, tallied again in Saturday’s 8-6 win by UBC, scoring the Thunderbirds’ third goal of the game. The first-year Arts student then assisted on UBC’s sixth and seventh goals, both of which were scored by Cole Wilson. The latter marker was the game winner as the T-Birds improved to 8-9-3.
 
Hayer’s weekend performance extended his point streak to four consecutive games. In that span, Hayer has three goals and five assists for eight points. He now has 10 points in 12 regular season appearances.
 
UBC will travel to Calgary this weekend for a two-game set against the Mount Royal Cougars.
