Katherine Tourigny (Vancouver) of UBC track and field was named the Female Athlete of the Week by the Association of Independent Institutions.

She booked her ticket to the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the 400-metre hurdles, by surpassing the national 'A' standard at California-Irvine's Steve Scott Invitational on Friday. Tourigny ended ninth in the race, finishing with a time of 1:02.68.
