Devan Wiebe won a pair of gold medals while helping UBC to a third place finish at the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama this past weekend.

A third-year commerce student from Vancouver, Wiebe was crowned NAIA Champion after winning the 800m in a time of 2:08.17. The previous two NAIA championships she had settled for bronze in the event.

Wiebe also anchored UBC's 4x800m relay team which defended its national title, winning in a time of 8:53.55, 10 seconds faster than their closest competition.

Third place overall is the best finish for the women ever at the NAIA Championships. They were leading going into the final event, but would lose out to the eventual champions from Indiana Tech by seven points.
