Sarah Casorso scored four points in two games to lead her No. 6 UBC Thunderbirds to a sweep over No. 8 Saskatchewan on the weekend in Canada West women's hockey action.

On Friday, Casorso, a fourth-year defenceman from Kelowna, B.C., assisted on the first and third UBC goals, both scored by Hannah Heisler. The third goal stood up as the game winner. With the win, UBC moved into sole possession of first place in the Canada West standings for the first time ever.

She scored her fourth goal of the year to opening the scoring on Saturday night. Then in overtime, she maintained possession of the puck in the Saskatchewan zone before skating behind the net and passing the it to a wide-open Nikola Brown-John, who tapped home the winner for a 2-1 UBC win.

Casorso leads all defenders in CIS scoring, with 15 points in 12 games. She's tied for 10th  overall in the CIS. In the Canada West, Casorso trails only teammate Tatiana Rafter in the league scoring race.
