Second-year fullback Andrew Coe scored two tries to lead UBC to a 20-15 victory over the California Golden Bears in the first leg of the annual ‘World’ Cup series on Saturday in Berkeley, Calif.

The Markham, Ont., native earned both tries in the second half as the T-Birds overcame a 9-3 halftime deficit in front of a capacity crowd on the road. 

UBC will take a five-point advantage into the second leg of the ‘World’ Cup, which will be played March 20 at UBC.

The next CDI Premier League game for UBC is this Saturday at Burnaby Lake.
