UBC Thunderbirds pitcher Alex Webb (Surrey, B.C.) tied a career high by striking out 11 batters on April 17 as he led his team to a 6-2 win. Webb put in seven innings of work and gave up seven hits and just one earned run to record the victory.

He improved to 8-3 on the season and lowered his earned-run average to 1.99. The junior hurler has 79 strikeouts in the current campaign against just 14 walks.

The Thunderbirds wrap up the regular season schedule next weekend with a showdown in Lewiston, Idaho against Lewis-Clark St. The four-game series begins Friday.
