MUSCLE MLK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Pitcher Jeremy Newton threw a complete-game, seven-hitter against the Menlo (Calif.) Oaks on April 11, leading his UBC Thunderbirds to a 4-1 victory. 

The junior from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, struck out eight batters without walking any, and surrendered just an unearned run. 

The victory improved his record to 7-2 on the season and lowered his earned-run average to 2.65. Newton has not given up an earned run in his last 18 innings of work.

The Thunderbirds host their final regular season series of the year this weekend when they welcome Corban University to Thunderbird Park for a four-game series beginning Friday at 12:00 pm.
