MUSCLE MLK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK



UBC Thunderbirds sophomore Evan Elder won the 10,000-meter run at the UBC Invitational on Friday in Vancouver and qualified for the NAIA national outdoor meet in the process.

Elder won the 10 k race in ?30:47.34, which is the third-best time in the NAIA so far this year. His time also surpassed the NAIA 'A' standard and is a personal best.

Elder, who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand, finished 14th at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships last November earning NAIA All-American status.

This weekend the Thunderbirds will compete at the Simon Fraser University Emilie Mondor Invitational on Saturday, April 11th.
