UBC Thunderbirds outside hitter Irvan Brar had a brilliant weekend, leading the ‘Birds to a sweep of the Brandon University Bobcats. The Blue and Gold took Friday’s contest by a 3-1 score, before finishing the Bobcats off with a straight-set 3-0 on Saturday evening.
 
Brar’s performance in the first match of the weekend showed off his versatility, as the 6-foot-2 Brar led UBC with 15 kills, paced the T-Birds with two service aces, finished second on the team with three blocks, and second in digs with 10.
 
In Saturday’s contest, Brar showed off his raw power by smashing down a spectacular 19 kills and notching an ace, while also flashing his hustle, tying for the team team with 12 digs.

Brar was named Canada West's Second Star of the Week amongst male athletes for his performances over the weekend. 

Brar and the ‘Birds will try to keep the momentum going next weekend, as they hit the road to take on the Alberta Golden Bears for a two-game series in Edmonton.
