MUSCLE MLK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK



Bruce Yari was named the Red Lion NAIA West Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Yari, a senior from Waterloo, Ont., helped the UBC Thunderbirds to a 4-1 record over the past week, which included wins over NAIA No. 10-ranked The Master's (Calif.) and a pair of NCAA Division 2 squads. He had 10 hits over the five games to improve his batting average to .397.
 
Yari also struck out just once over that span while earning four walks. UBC opens NAIA West Grouping play this weekend in Redding, Calif., against the Simpson Red Hawks.
