Pasco Valana is a professional goaltending coach based in Vancouver.
He brings a wealth of experience to the UBC Thunderbirds women's hockey program.
Entering his 21st season coaching goaltenders in the high performance arena, Valana has mentored 58 goaltenders to college scholarships and 13 to the National Hockey League.
He has also mentored a KHL All-Star, three Hobey Baker nominees, and goalies who have an NCAA Division I Championship and a Royal Bank Cup.
In 2010, Valana was the Chief of Athlete Services for the sport of ice hockey at the Vancouver Olympic Games and was added to the coaches pool for Hockey Canada National Women’s U18, U22 and Senior National Training Camp.
He is now working closely with Coaches at Hockey Canada in developing an accredited National Goaltending Certification Program.
Valana now partners with the Dallas Stars goaltending coach Mike Valley in Elite Goalies, a company dedicated to providing exclusive professional services to amateur athletes that is based in the Olympic Oval in Richmond.
