A former goaltender at Ohio St. University, Barbara Bilko begins her third season as assistant coach for the women's hockey team.
Born in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, BIlko was a standout goaltender, first at Shattuck St. Mary's School (former school of Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, and Zach Parise) where she helped the Sabres to a pair of USA U19 National Championships. She went on to play three seasons at Ohio State University (2008-2011) where she was a member of the All-Academic Big Ten Team each season. She also took part in Team USA Olympic Development Camps from 2004-2008.Â
She graduated from Ohio State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy.
Following her playing career she immediately got into coaching. She was the video coach for Ohio St. for the 2011-12 season. In 2012 she came to Canada taking on the role of Head Goaltending Coach for Athletes in Action in BC and Alberta. As well, she is the Co-Head Coach of Next Level Goaltending in Abbotsford, BC.Â
