Winter Thunderland

What better way to kick off the holiday winter season and get into a festive mood, than a good old hockey game and public skate!

On November 30, we're hosting a winter festival at UBC which includes a public skate followed by a hockey game featuring our Women's Hockey team vs. the Alberta Pandas, (your game ticket gets you FREE access to the public skate). Don't worry if you've never laced up and skated before, we'll have players from our Women's Hockey team on the ice during the public skate to provide tips, everyone is welcome. We encourage anyone with their own skates to bring them though we will have some skates and helmets available for loan, free of charge (while supplies last).

This event also features a festival zone active throughout the public skate and hockey game with fun all-ages winter-themed activations including large inflatables, hockey skills games, holiday craft-making, entertainment, and photos with our mascot Thunder.

Enjoy a free hot chocolate if you bring along a non-perishable food item or make a gift card or cash donation: we'll be collecting food and donations for the Hastings Community Elementary School at this event, (located in a low income neighbourhood of Vancouver).

Special bonus: Ticket holders can also enjoy a FREE swim at the UBC Aquatic Centre on Sat. November 30 and Sun. December 1; just present proof of ticket purchase at the UBC pool counter.
