Biography

Madison joins the Thunderbirds from Winnipeg’s St. Mary’s Academy Flames AAA Prep Team program. She was the Flames’ top scoring defenceman this past season with six goals and 13 assists in 36 games.

She comes from a hockey family. Her dad Stephen played 250 games in the NHL with Buffalo, Quebec, and the New York Rangers. Her uncle James played 1,280 career NHL games with the New York Rangers, Hartford, Calgary, and Buffalo. He is currently the Dallas Stars assistant coach. Her other uncle Richard Chernomaz played 51 games in the NHL with New Jersey and Calgary.

Not to be outdone, Madison’s mom Carrie played volleyball at the University of Winipeg and was a member of the Canadian National team.
