Devan Lisson each scored 16 points as the UBC Thunderbirds downed the Queen's Golden Gaels 77-63 in their semi-final tilt at the Concordia-Reebok Tournament on Thursday night.
The victory advances the T-Birds to the championship final where they will meet the host Concordia Stingers on Friday. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. PT.
It was a dominant first half for the 'Birds that saw them jump out to a 45-31 lead at the break. Leading by four points with 3:04 to play in the half, UBC closed the second quarter on a 13-3 to put away the contest.
As a squad, the T-Birds shot a solid 56.9% from the floor (29-of-51) and were clipping along at an 86.7% conversation rate at the charity stripe (13-of-15). On the other hand, Queen's couldn't match UBC's efficiency and finished the contest 24-of-60 (40.0%) from the field and were 11-of-16 at the line (68.8%).
