Cole Wilson registered in his third career CIS hat trick this past weekend, helping the UBC Thunderbirds earn a weekend split against the Manitoba Bisons.

After falling 3-1 Saturday night, Wilson led the Thunderbirds to an 8-6 win Sunday afternoon against the Bisons. Wilson scored three goals, including the game winner, to give him nine goals on the season.

The former Second Team Canada West All-Star got off to a slow start this season managing four goals and three assists through the first 16 games of the season; however, in his last four games he has equaled that total with five goals and two assists.

With the win on Sunday UBC improved to 8-9-3 and sit in fifth place in the Canada West standings with eight games remaining on the regular season schedule.

UBC will travel to Calgary this weekend for a two-game set against the Mt. Royal University
