Kat Kennedy led the UBC Thunderbirds women's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational Golf tournament last week, hosted by South Dakota State. A tournament featuring mainly NCAA Division I schools.
Kennedy, a first-year player from Okotoks, AB, finished tied for seventh in the three round event, shooting rounds of 79, 77, and 79; 12 shots back of the eventual winner.Â
The Thunderbirds, who finished runner-up at the NAIA Championship last year, won two events back in the fall and are looking to defend their Association of Independent Institutions Conference Championship next month. UBC will be the host team at the this year's event, which runs April 27-28 at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
