This past weekend UBC Thunderbirds track and field athlete Luc Bruchet was named the Senior Male Cross Country Runner of the Year by BC Athletics at the organization's annual awards banquet on at the Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel.

Bruchet capped off 2013 by winning the Canadian championship in Vancouver on Nov. 30 on his home course at Jericho Beach.

He will be back on the track with the Thunderbirds this spring as he looks to defend his NAIA title in 1,500m as well as make waves in the 5,000m.
