With his UBC Thunderbirds men’s swim team taking home the silver, fourth-year T-Bird Keegan Zanatta was an unquestioned superstar at this past weekend’s 2016 CIS Speedo Swim Championships.
 
The Victoria, B.C. native was named 2016 CIS Men’s Swimmer of the Year, as he brought home four individual medals at nationals, three gold and a bronze. Zanatta topped the field in the 400m freestyle (3:53:36), the 200m freestyle (1:50:28 – a CIS Championship record) , and was the closer for the 4x200m freestyle relay team that took first place with a time of 7:29:30.
 
Zanatta was also part of the foursome that claimed siiver in the 4x100m freestyle relay, and was named the CIS Swimmer of the Year following the national meet.
