Leah Pezer enters her fifth season as the women's volleyball full-time assistant. This year marks her ninth year at UBC, five as a player and four as an assistant coach.
Pezer (Allinger) played for the Thunderbirds from 1997-2002. She was a three-time Canada West All-Star and a two-time honourable mention CIS All-Canadian. Since finishing her career at UBC she has gone on to a succesful beach volleyball career, playing on the AVP pro tour from 2008 to 2010. She along with fellow former 'Bird Liz Cordonier won the 2013 Vancouver Open at Kits beach.
Her coaching resume includes six seasons as a coach at the Centre of Excellence, helping out with a number of high school programs, including Crofton House, Point Grey, Handsworth, and Rockridge. She also was the provincial team head coach for the U16 Western Elites, which she led to a bronze medal in 2012.
She graduated from UBC in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
When not coaching Leah can be found playng beach volleyball, doing hot yoga, studying, and hiking the grouse grind with her husband Todd.
