Entering 2019-20 season
Jodi Zbyszewski’s coaching debut at UBC couldn’t have been any better, as she helped the Thunderbirds to the 2019 U SPORTS women’s volleyball national championship last season.

Zbyszewski returns for her second year as one of two lead assistant coaches for the UBC women’s volleyball program.
She’s a familiar face to Thunderbirds fans, as Zbyszewski starred for five years for the Trinity Western Spartans as a left-side player. She was also a star track and field athlete at TWU, where she held the school’s pentathlon points record for a dozen years.
Zbyszewski grew up in the Lower Mainland but spent several years living and working in Ontario, before moving back to BC to join the T-Birds’ coaching staff.

While in Ontario, she coached with Phoenix Volleyball, and was named the Ontario Volleyball Association’s Sandy Silver Female Coach of the Year Award recipient in 2016.

Zbyszewski attended Holy Cross Regional High School in Surrey and was honoured as the 2002 Sport BC High School Female Athlete of the Year for her achievements in soccer and basketball in addition to her two main sports.
