UBC is hosting Keio University (Japan), University of Tokyo, and Sacramento State University (NCAA Div. 1) in a 4-team baseball tournament, running August 13–18. The format will be a 4-team round robin, with each team playing 5 games (full schedule and ticket links below).
A highlight game of the tournament will be between UBC Thunderbirds and University of Tokyo on August 13 at 7pm. This game will be hosted at Nat Bailey Stadium, and is notable because University of Tokyo's team will be the first Japanese varsity baseball team to ever compete on Canadian soil - an event not to be missed.
Aside from the Aug 13 game at Nat Bailey Stadium, all tournament games will be hosted at Tourmaline West Stadium on UBC campus. Fans attending games at UBC will have access to a beer garden presented by Granville Island Brewing. Food trucks and snack stations will also be available on site. - Fans are permitted to re-enter Tourmaline West Stadium through the home plate and left field entrances
- Tickets must be presented for re-scanning when leaving and re-entering
