The UBC Thunderbirds Rowing teams tirelessly work toward their goal to be the best university rowing program in Canada and to develop more athletes for the National Team than any other school. They have a tradition of success across all boat classes: heavyweight & lightweight, sweeping & sculling. The following are some of the great achievements for the UBC Thunderbirds rowing program:
  • 9-time Canadian University Men's Rowing Champions
  • 4-time Canadian University Women's Rowing Champions
  • 81 Olympians all-time, and at least one UBC athlete on every Olympic team since 1932
  • Numerous Senior and U23 World Championship athletes
  • Six Thunderbirds won medals at the 2024 FISU World University Rowing Championships
