Biography

Fourth Year (2011-12): Started 29 of 30 games at the point guard position. Averaged 32 minutes per contest, shooting .836 from the free throw line while also averaging 10.4 ppg and 2.3 apg.

 

2010-11: Red-shirt season at UBC.

 
Prior to UBC: Played three seasons with the University of Victoria Vikes (2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10). Finished fourth in team scoring in 2009-10, averaging 9.4 points per game as the team's top three-point shooter, making 43.5% of her threes. Appeared in 19 games during the 2008-09 season, averaging 2.9 ppg and 1.1 rpg in 12.7 mpg. As a rookie in 2007-08, Hughes played in 23 games, averaging 4.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.75 assists in 16.7 minutes per game.

 
Personal:
Graduate of Handsworth Secondary School in North Vancouver, BC where she played with current T-Bird teammate Kris Young. Hughes also shared the court with both Vieweg sisters on the 3D Elite club team during high school years. In her grade 12 season, Hughes led Handsworth to a fourth place finish at the Provincials, the school’s best ever performance at the time. Past awards include: Quinn Keast “Most Complete Player” award at the 2006 HSBC Basketball Classic.
