RICHMOND HILL, Ont. – U SPORTS today announced
The Rec Room Granville as the Presenting Partner of the
2025 CGIS U SPORTS Women's Rugby Championship, set for October 29 – November 2, 2025 at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver, and hosted by the University of British Columbia (UBC).
The five-day, 11-match national championship will bring together the top eight university programs in Canada, including the host UBC Thunderbirds, to compete for the Monilex Trophy.
At its core, The Rec Room celebrates people coming together to play, compete and enjoy shared experiences. That spirit aligns naturally with U SPORTS student-athletes, whose drive, teamwork and resilience inspire fans across the country. As Presenting Partner, The Rec Room Granville helps ensure their achievements are recognized not only on the pitch but also in the celebrations that continue beyond the final whistle, creating a championship atmosphere that extends the student-athlete experience to the wider community.
"Partnering with The Rec Room Granville adds a new dimension to the championship atmosphere we are building in Vancouver," said
Pierre Arsenault, Chief Executive Officer, U SPORTS. "Their dedication to bringing people together through games, entertainment and friendly competitive spirit is a natural extension of the excitement these student-athletes create on the pitch. We are thrilled to work with UBC and the city to deliver an unforgettable showcase of women's rugby."
Returning to UBC for the first time since 2009, the championship will benefit from Vancouver's deep rugby tradition and the Thunderbirds' renowned ability to host major events. Fans and athletes alike can look forward to a vibrant atmosphere and a celebration of women's rugby at the highest level.
