The UBC Thunderbirds (2-2) are gearing up to host the final round-robin tournament in Canada West field hockey action October 22-24^th as the Calgary Dinos (0-4) and University of Victoria Vikes (4-0) visit the 'Birds to close out regular season competition and determine the conference champion.
 
UBC will face a winless Calgary squad on Friday, October 22^nd at 11:00 a.m. (PST) and Saturday, October 23^rd at 4:00 p.m. (PST), while also taking on the undefeated and U SPORTS No.1-ranked Vikes on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. (PST) and Sunday, October 24^th, at 4:00 p.m. (PST).


 
While the T-Birds shutout the Dinos 7-0 and 5-0 in their two meetings to open the season, they dropped a pair of tough tests against the two-time defending Canada West and U SPORTS champion Vikes 3-1 and 3-0 in Victoria during the first week of October. UBC's Thora Rae leads the 'Birds with three goals so far this season, with Sara Goodman and Jordyn Faiczak tallying two goals each.
 
The 2021 alternate schedule sees the Canada West championship awarded to the top finisher in the regular season standings on Sunday, October 24^th. The winner will represent the conference at the best-of-three U SPORTS national championship, hosted by the winner of the OUA.
