Thora Rae vs Calgary, Oct. 5, 2019

UBC earned its first corner of the day in the eighth minute, where it was served to Yee who buried it to put the Thunderbirds on the board. Two minutes later, the T-Birds struck again after the Calgary goalkeeper was caught out of her net, and the found its way onto the stick of Rae, who tapped it in for her first goal of the evening.

Calgary nearly saw its first goal early in the second quarter when they were awarded a corner, but the pass deflected off the stick of the waiting Dino to mitigate the opportunity.

The following play after regaining possession, Faiczak broke away down the field and made it 3-0 'Birds in the 18th minute. UBC found the back of the net once more in the second quarter as Stelling broke away from the Dinos' defence to net her first goal and put the Thunderbirds up 4-0 at the half.

Calgary opened the second half with back-to-back corners but couldn't convert as the Chow proceeded to net another goal for the 'Birds by dibbling it in for the score. UBC padded the lead once more thanks to Fraser, who scored on the run from the top right-centre of the circle.

Rae capped off the scoring with her second of the evening to put a pin in a statement 7-0 Thunderbirds victory.

The T-Birds are right back at it on Saturday, October 2nd, against the host University of Victoria Vikes at 11:00 a.m. (PST) to continue an action-packed Canada West tournament weekend.
