UBC's 22-4 run in the fourth quarter would seal the victory for the 'Birds who gained momentum as the game wore on.

The Heat stuck to head coach Bobby Mitchell's game plan, taking the lead in the first quarter. Shooting 47 percent in the frame, their highest-scoring quarter in four games, the Heat opened up a 20-15 lead.

But the Thunderbirds would push back, going on an 11-4 run to open the second stanza. Accelerated by Tanis Metcalfe's eight points, part of her 10 in the game, UBC took a 34-30 advantage into halftime.
