UVic looked absolutely dominant in their season opener, also against the Pandas. The Vikes dismantled their Alberta opponents by a score of 82-0.

By the Numbers

4 – the short four game regular season makes every game must-win in Canada West women's rugby.

5 – the number of tries UBC scored in their opening match versus Alberta that were scored or created by first-year players. Shoshanah Seumanutafa scored three and made a powerful run that led directly to a penalty try, while fellow freshman Alayna Scramstad scored the other for the T-Birds.

Players To Watch

Shoshanah Seumanutafa – there aren't enough superlatives to describe Seumanutafu's three-try debut performance with the 'Blue and Gold'.

Sarah Klok – another first-year who made an immediate impact for the T-Birds, Klok was force in the scrum and the rucks against Alberta.
