The Matchup
The volleyball rivalry between the UBC and Trinity Western is becoming one of the most heated in the entire nation. Expect the temperature to rise a few more degrees when the number two ranked Spartans and number three ranked 'Birds do battle in the Canada West Final Four semi-final in Edmonton on Friday.
First serve goes Friday, March 10 at 7pm PT. The championship final and bronze medal game will be played Saturday afternoon.

Something has to give between these provincial rivals, who are each on eight-game win streaks, including 2-0 sweeps in the best-of-three quarter-final round last week, and are ranked next to one another in the U SPORTS Top 10, with UBC at third and TWU sitting fourth.

Ciara Hanly led the conference with 1.22 blocks per set. Trinity Western prevailed in both of its regular season games against UBC, winning 3-0 in Vancouver and 3-1 at home in November. UBC and TWU ranked first and second in points scored during the 2016-17 Canada West campaign.
