UBC heads to Toronto for U SPORTS championships: What you need to know

VANCOUVER – Coming off a silver medal in the Canada West championships, the UBC Thunderbirds take their show on the road to Ryerson University in Toronto for the U SPORTS championships.

The 'Birds have had a great run to end the 2016-17 regular season and will head to Toronto ranked 3rd in the eight team tournament. UBC's first game will be against OUA finalists, the Western Mustangs on Friday at 11am PT. All games will be broadcast on USPORTS.LIVE.

"Our team had an excellent season especially in the second half.  Having Juliana Kaufmanis return from her academic term in New Zealand was a key component, along with the development of our group," says UBC head coach Doug Reimer. "I feel we are a fairly balanced team with significant depth and experience that should allow us to compete at a higher level than we have for the past couple of years."
