The Matchup
The Thunderbirds will look to finish strong as they wrap up the 2016 campaign on home field against Lethbridge Friday at 4 pm. UBC is winless in three games this season, but host an 0-2 Pronghorns squad who have scored the fewest points in the Canada West division this year.

Last Action
UBC fought hard against the Alberta Pandas last weekend but ultimately came up short and were eliminated from postseason play. Throughout the season the 'Birds have battled to hold their ground with strong starts, but have yet to carry their momentum through to a victory. The T-Birds will be looking to turn the tides in the season finale, as a number of graduating teammates add extra incentive to leave it all out on the pitch this weekend. UBC has seen success against Lethbridge, with their last CIS victory coming in a 20-5 win over the Pronghorns in 2014 and, in 2015, drawing even with a 12-12 tie.

Â
The Pronghorns has taken to the field just twice this season - losing a tight one to Alberta 39-33 and falling 64-10 to Calgary in their most recent action back on October 2nd. Lethbridge will be rested and ready for two games to cap off their season - starting with a Friday clash at UBC before sailing off to wrap up 2016 in Victoria on Sunday.
Â
By the Numbers
43 – the number of points Lethbridge has scored so far this year, three back of UBC's 46 on the season.
Â
11 – the number of games without a 'W' for the T-birds - a streak the 'Birds are poised to snap this weekend.
Â
Players To Watch
Ciara MaloneÂ
– (#15, Wing) – the 5th year leading scorer has been the face of UBC's offense in her tenure with the 'Birds.

Â
Mackenzie CarsonÂ
– (#10, Fly-half) – a first-year breakthrough performer, Carson equalled the veteran Malone's point total with 10 points this season and earned her second try of the year last weekend.

Coach's Take
Despite the losses to date, UBC Head Coach Dean Murten sees potential in his team coming into the season finale. "Although the results haven't reflected it – there are a lot of new players who have just gotten better and better every game. Going into this game, it's pretty much a must-win for us. I'm looking forward to them going out and performing well."
Â
Murten knows there's a little more than just a victory on the line.
Â
"There are a lot of girls leaving so we've asked them to go out there and enjoy themselves and go out on a high so the girls who are playing their last game leave with good memories, and feel good about themselves. I really feel as though they deserve to win."
