Vancouver, BC - Still in search of their first win of the season the UBC Thunderbirds women's field hockey team (0-0-2) head to Calgary for a pair of games against the Dinos (0-2-0) this weekend.UBC opened up the Canada West regular season last weekend with a pair of 1-1 draws against their arch rivals from Victoria. They were the first two games under new head coach Robin D'Abreo. Hannah Haughn and Sophie Jones scored for the Thunderbirds.
Calgary, like UBC, had a large turnover this season, returning just five players from last year's squad which finished the season 0-8. The Dinos had a bye last weekend after starting the season with a pair of losses against Victoria, falling 6-0 and 1-0.
Heading into this weekend, the Thunderbirds boast a 22 game unbeaten streak (20-0-2) against Calgary. UBC has not lost to the Dinos since October 11, 2009.
