VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds baseball team will conclude the fall portion of its schedule with four home games this weekend against the visiting Thompson Rivers University WolfPack at Thunderbird Park.

TEAM SCHEDULEThe squads will square off Saturday, with the first pitch in Game 1 scheduled for 2 p.m., with a second game to follow. Sunday's doubleheader will start at 11 a.m.

UBC and TRU played four seven-inning games in Kamloops, B.C., two weeks ago, all of which the Thunderbirds won.

On Saturday, UBC won the first game 9-0 on four runs batted in by
Jerod Bartnik. The outfielder from Surrey, B.C., had three hits in four plate appearances. Pitcher
Conor Lillis-White of Toronto threw four shutout innings to record his first victory of the season. TRU committed six errors.

Saturday's second game saw the Thunderbirds come back from fourth-inning deficit to win 4-2

Trailing 2-1 going into the top of the fifth, third baseman
Kevin Biro, of Deep Bay, B.C., scored on an error to tie the game.

The winning runs came from London, Ont., native
Cam Firth, who hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth to score
Tyler Enns.
Jeremy Newton struck out nine batters in a complete-game victory.

In Sunday's opening game, UBC got RBI's from Enns (2),
Vinny Martin and
Brody Hawkins in the fourth inning to win 5-2.

Bruce Yari drove in the other run on day where he recorded three hits and a walk.
Curtis Taylor pitched four innings for the win.

Newcomer
Anthony Cusati drove in two runs to help UBC to a 9-1 victory in the series finale.
Alex Graham gave up just four hits over six innings to earn the victory.

Enns, Yari, Martin,
Brendan Rose and
Braeden Allemann drove in the other runs.

Rose ended the weekend with six hits in nine at-bats.
