VANCOUVER - Coming off the back of two more wins last weekend over the Manitoba Bisons, the No. 1-ranked UBC Thunderbirds are at home again to take on the Thompson Rivers WolfPack.

Last Friday, the Thunderbirds played out a mammoth five-set match in which
Lisa Barclay and
Rosie Schlagintweit picked up 18 and 19 kills respectively, while
Abbey Keeping and
Mariah Bruinsma came up with seven and eight blocks each. The Saturday game was won in much more comfortable fashion, a 3-0 win and a six-point cushion in all three sets. Barclay impressed again with 22 kills.
UBC now sit 4-0 through the first few weeks of the season and look at add two more wins to that tally when Thompson Rivers touch down in Vancouver. TRU (0-4) lost both of last weekend's games to Calgary in straight sets.Â
Tied first with UBC Okanagan, the Thunderbirds boast a number of statistical leaders.
Lisa Barclay leads the Canada West in kills (4.40 per game) and points (5.26 per game).
Juliana Kaufmanis is the league leader in service aces (0.69 per game) and
Kirsty Setterlund is second in Canada West in assists (10.27 per game).
The WolfPack have found a gem of their own in rookie Kaitlin Lomas, who is third in Canada West in blocks (1.42 per game).
This weekend's games are scheduled for 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at War Memorial Gymnasium.
