VANCOUVER – A 5-0 win on Sunday in Calgary gave the UBC Thunderbirds their third-straight shutout and a sweep in their four-game season series against the Dinos, guaranteeing them a spot in this year's CIS tournament in Victoria.
Abigail Raye scored the only goal in a tight first half, but things opened up for UBC early in the second, when they picked up three goals in a seven-minute span.

Hannah Haughn got things started with a field goal in the 42nd minute, preserving her conference scoring lead with her seventh tally of the year. Then veterans
Natalie Sourisseau and
Kate Gillis scored in the 48th and 49th for their fourth and fifth goals of the campaign respectively.

Sophie Huijskens capped things off with her first career CIS goal in the 67th minute.
Bea Francisco got her third straight clean sheet in goal for the 'Birds, who outscored Calgary 23-1 in the season series.Â
The T-Birds also extend their overall unbeaten streak to 30 games. Their last loss in Canada West regular season or CIS playoff action came on October 1, 2011 at home when the Victoria Vikes beat them 3-0.
UBC's next scheduled action is October 19, when they will be at home to start a two-game series against the Vikes.
