BOX SCORE
Young, with four free throws, and
Maggie Sundberg, who hit a pair of three-pointers, provided all the scoring for UBC in overtime. Sundberg opened the extra period with a triple and then answered a pair of St. FX foul shots with another trey with 58 seconds left to give UBC a 62-58 lead.

"It was important to get this game experience," said UBC head coach
Deb Huband. "At times we were able to execute effectively but we need to build on our consistency from here. We will need our young players to gain comfort in expanded roles. Although we faltered late in the fourth to allow overtime we came through with a big three from Maggie and clutch free throws from Kris."

UBC led 56-48 with 4:52 left in regulation but St. FX score the final eight points of the quarter to force overtime.

Sundberg scored 15 points for the Thunderbirds while newcomer
Harleen Sidhu had eight points and a team-high 12 rebounds.

The team will play its second game of the tournament on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. against New Brunswick.

"Tomorrow versus UNB will give us another chance to learn and grow as a unit," said Huband.
