VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds baseball team, preparing to host its final homestand of the season, is heading south for a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon against the NCAA Division I Seattle University Redhawks at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Washington.
Left-hander
David Otterman (4-3, 3.14 ERA) will start for UBC against the Redhawks' Bryan Dalton (1-2, 4.34 ERA).
The game will begin at 4 p.m. and will feature live online statistics.
The Thunderbirds and Redhawks have played each other once before. UBC recorded a 2-1 road victory over Seattle on April 6, 2010.
UBC's final home games of the current season will take place April 21-22 against the Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls.

The Thunderbirds have fought numerous injuries this season.
Blake Carruthers (3rd, Calgary, AB) leads the team with a .382 batting average but hasn't played since March 25.
Matt Spillman (3rd, Welland, ON) has drawn 45 walks in 31 games played but is out for the rest of the season with an arm injury.
Andrew Firth (3rd, London, ON) leads UBC with 49 hits and 33 runs batted in to go along with a .329 batting average.
Nick Senior (3rd, Surrey, BC) is batting .305 with nine doubles, three triples, five home runs, and 30 runs batted in.

The Redhawks will face UBC after playing an intense game on Tuesday against their cross-town rivals, the University of Washington Huskies.
Seattle's starting pitcher for Wednesday's game, Bryan Dalton, has given up 37 hits in 37.1 innings pitched over ten appearances and leads the Redhawks in walks (19) and wild pitches (seven).
Riley Tompkins and Trent Oleszczuk are the leading hitters for Seattle, as they currently have batting averages of .309 and .306 respectively. Oleszczuk has just nine strikeouts in 111 at-bats, and leads Seattle with an on-base percentage of .443.
The Redhawks' offence has been spread out through the batting order. Tompkins has a team-high 14 RBI's but five other Seattle players have at least ten.
