VANCOUVER - The UBC Thunderbirds women's volleyball team completed a perfect tour of Quebec by beating the Laval Rouge et Or on Saturday night 3-0.
The set scores (25-19, 25-22 and 25-22) were much closer than on Friday.

"Laval came out much stronger this evening and I was pleased with how we responded," said UBC head coach
Doug Reimer. "I think our team feels good about how we are progressing in the preseason, although there is obviously a lot of room for improvement before league starts."
Lisa Barclay (Brandon, MB) led the team with 14 kills, while
Briana Liau Kent (Vancouver, BC) had 11 digs for UBC.
Shanice Marcelle (Victoria, BC) chipped in with eight kills and six digs.
UBC needed just nine sets to win all three games of its Quebec tour, defeating Montreal on Thursday, Oct. 11 before sweeping Laval twice yesterday and today.
The T-Birds will return home to play in the West Classic. The team's first game will be Friday, Oct. 19 against UBC Okanagan. The match at the Richmond Oval will begin at 2:30 p.m.
There will be two games on on Saturday, Oct. 20 for UBC before the team hosts a match at War Memorial Gymnasium on Sunday, Oct. 21.
The West Coast Classic will also feature a coaching seminar with three-time Olympic coach Bill Neville as a keynote presenter.
