UBC Thunderbirds

Last week: beat Calgary 3-0, 3-1
Streak: 3 wins
UBC used an offensive explosion to dispatch the Calgary Dinos last weekend, winning games by scores of 3-0 and 3-1.
Robyn Pendleton (Victoria, BC) scored three of the six Thunderbirds goals, earning her Canada West Female Athlete of the Week honours.
She now leads the entire conference in scoring. Teammate
Sarah Keglowitsch (Shawnigan Lake, BC) is right behind Pendleton with two goals on the year.
Cassandra Tayler (Vancouver, BC) and
Shanlee Johnston (Vancouver, BC) also recorded goals for UBC against Calgary.
Bea Francisco (Richmond, BC) is another one of UBC's conference leaders. She has the most wins and shutouts and leads in goals against average.
Victoria Vikes
2011 conference record: 1-3 (4th)
Last week: lost to Alberta 1-0, beat Alberta 1-0
Streak: 1 win
The Victoria Vikes gained their first win of the 2011 regular season on September 25 against Alberta, when Kayla Kirby scored the only goal of the game in the 52
nd minute off a penalty corner.
The win allowed Victoria to gain a split of the weekend series at home and improve its record to 1-3.
Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Williams recorded the shutout for the Vikes and improved her GAA to 0.50 in two games, tied for the best in the Canada West.
But in that same game, Victoria head coach Lynne Beecroft was involved in an incident with a game umpire. After the Canada West Complaints Review Committee looked into the incident, she was given a one-game suspension. That means Beecroft won't be coaching Saturday's game against UBC.
