MUSCLE MLK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK



Second-year defenceman Devon Morrison recorded four points to lead the UBC Thunderbirds to a two-game sweep of the Mt. Royal Cougars in Vancouver on the weekend.
 
On Friday night, Morrison assisted on two of UBC's three goals, including the game winner, scored by Nikola Brown-John in the second period. Then she found Tatiana Rafter for the insurance marker late in the third to give the T-Birds a 3-1 win.
 
The following day, the Science student from Ancaster, Ont., added two more helpers as UBC won 4-0. Morrison got assists on Rebecca Unrau's second-period goal that made it 3-0 and Katie Zinn's goal in the third period that rounded out the scoring.
 
The pair of triumphs improved UBC to 10-4-4 in Canada West regular season play. The team will travel to Saskatchewan for a series against the Huskies this weekend.
