University of British Columbia's Scott Secord earned top honours in the Association of Independent Institutions Conference being named the Male Athlete of the Week for the week of March 31-April 6.
 
Secord, a junior from Calgary, finished tied for third medalist at the Embry-Riddle (Fla.) Bash at the Beach after posting a 3-under 141. He carded rounds of 73-68 to help 11th-ranked UBC to a third-place finish. UBC finished ahead of top-ranked Wayland Baptist, No. 9 Webber International and No. 15 South Carolina-Beaufort in the tournament.

The Thunderbirds will be back on the course April 27-28 when they play host to the A.I.I. Conference Championships at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
