It was a golden week for UBC Thunderbirds women's golfer Kat Kennedy (Okotoks, Alta.), as she won individual medalist honors at the 2016 Association of Independent Institutions women's golf conference championship in Chesterton, Ind., while her team claimed its seventh straight A.I.I. crown.

Kennedy finished at 9-over 153 after rounds of 78 and 75 at The Brassie Golf Club. Her final-round result moved her from third after the opening day to first. It was her third tournament win of the 2015-16 season.

Kennedy, who won A.I.I. Female Athlete of the Week honours with her performance, will lead UBC into the 22nd annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championships May 17-20 at the Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga.
