Jacob Simmons

Jacob Simmons was named the lead assistant coach for the UBC Men's Basketball program ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Born and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Simmons played at both the U SPORTS and CCAA level. That included time at Memorial University in the AUS, before returning to his hometown to finish his collegiate career at Keyano College.

After that, he played professionally in multiple countries, beginning in Luxembourg where he finished as his league's scoring champion at 36.2 points per game. He also spent time in Albania, Norway and most recently Australia.

Throughout his playing career he was involved in coaching, beginning with Alberta Basketball. He has experience working with teams across youth, high school and post-secondary levels. He's excited to take to coaching full-time now here at UBC.
